History of the Foundation
The Esterhazy & District Charity Golf Classic (Charity Golf) began in 2001 from the vision of Don Hood. He gathered like minded people together from the community to form an organization to support health care in Esterhazy & District.
A golf tournament is held annually since 2001. It is very well supported by corporate donors and individuals from the communities. As a result of Covid the event has not been held in 2020 & 2021. However, as the need continues, we have canvassed corporate sponsors who have responded generously to our health care needs.
In the 20 years Charity Golf has raised $3,840,000. About $1.5 million of the money raised has been used to purchase equipment for the medical clinic, the hospital, the care home, and Morris Lodge. Beginning in 2009, Charity Golf has committed over $2.6 million toward the new hospital and Care Home facility
